6/26/20 Update: Zero residents currently have the COVID-19 virus
June 26, 2020
There were many smiles and tears of joy this week as Lyngblomsten celebrated the return to no residents having COVID-19.
- On Tuesday, 3 care center residents completed their recovery from COVID-19, bringing our total number of active resident cases down to 0! As of today (Friday, June 26), we continue to have 0 resident cases. In addition, we have 5 active employee cases (down from 25 cases three weeks ago), and 0 tenants from our apartment buildings have the virus.
- Wednesday was just as joyful—that morning, we held a Care Center Family Parade for our residents and their loved ones. Family members were invited to drive, walk, bike, rollerblade, or even unicycle along the parade route from Como Zoo to our main parking lot. No unicycles were spotted, but there were some adorable children on scooters! Residents and staff lined the care center parking lot (wearing masks and six feet apart) and got to enjoy some fresh air while watching the parade. Here’s a link to photos from the event: https://www.lyngblomsten.org/Photos.
Even though this week was one of celebration, we know the situation on our campus could change. That’s why we remain vigilant in following all guidance from the MDH, CDC, and CMS to keep everyone on our campus—care center residents, housing tenants, and employees—healthy and safe.
The new Outdoor Visitation Guidelines for residents and tenants went into effect this past week and complies with guidelines from MDH. Those wanting to visit loved ones need to schedule appointments. Refer to the policy for details.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Lyngblomsten during this challenging time, whether you dropped off treats for staff, wrote a card to a resident, sewed a facemask, or offered up a prayer (or two, or three!) for our community. You help make Lyngblomsten a very special place.
