DESCRIPTION:Talk therapy with a trained and licensed therapist can be a very beneficial addition to self-care when caregiving for someone living with dementia. It can be an outlet to share and work through emotions and challenges as well as build on skills and techniques while helping find some of the bright spots in your role as caregiving partner. Join us as we welcome Jennifer Finstad\, MSW\, LICSW of Healing Canvas Counseling to learn more about how talk therapy may benefit you and help break down some of the barriers in accessing this service and finding the right therapist for you. \nCost: No fee. DESCRIPTION:The Gathering\, Lyngblomsten’s award-winning enrichment program for older adults with memory loss\, is seeking caring individuals to serve as volunteers. As a volunteer\, you’ll spend four meaningful hours socializing and engaging in brain-stimulating activities with participants\, providing their family caregivers with a much-needed break. Attend an orientation session to learn more about this opportunity and have your questions answered. \nRegistration for this session is required. To register\, please contact Melanie Jagolino by June 20 at 651.632.5499 or mjagolino@lyngblomsten.org. \nOrientation sessions at the Lino Lakes campus are held every fourth Wednesday of the month.

DESCRIPTION:Family and friends who are caring for someone experiencing Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia are welcome to participate in this free support group offered by Lyngblomsten Community Services. Meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Each support group meeting lasts about one hour. \nGroups are facilitated by Lisa Brown\, MSW\, LISW\, Caregiver Services Program Coordinator. If you are interested in participating in a group\, please contact us at 651.632.5320 or caregiving@lyngblomsten.org to sign up. Registration is preferred\, but walk-ins are welcome. \nA virtual version of this support group meets every second Tuesday via Zoom.
