DESCRIPTION:Join Lyngblomsten’s Lifelong Learning & the Arts department for a Valentine’s Day concert from saxophonist Alexis Aguilar of the MacPhail Center for Music. Listen to romantic pieces in the Newman-Benson Chapel of Lyngblomsten’s Como Park campus. \n \nAlexis (Lexie) Aguilar is a saxophonist currently based in the Twin Cities. In addition to her current studies pursing a DMA in saxophone performance at the University of Minnesota\, she teaches as an adjunct professor of saxophone at the University of Saint Thomas and MacPhail Center for Music. Lexie enjoys being an active member of music communities and has performed with the Minneapolis Orchestra\, the Quad City Symphony Orchestra\, at the North American Saxophone Alliance Regional Conferences\, and at the Iowa Saxophone Unite Conferences. She currently works with the University of Minnesota’s New Music Ensemble\, as both a performer and administrator. Previously Lexie received a Master’s in Music from the New England Conservatory and a Bachelor of Arts in both French and Saxophone performance at Augustana College. \nFree; No registration required.

DESCRIPTION:This Parkinson’s Disease Support Group is an informal\, self-managed organization of persons with Parkinson’s and their caregivers whose purpose is to share information and offer mutual support in a spirit of self-acceptance. It’s a place where other family members and friends can feel welcome and supported. Any stage of Parkinson’s Disease is welcome. \nThis is an open group that meets the first Thursday of the month; come as often as you are able. DESCRIPTION:The Gathering\, Lyngblomsten’s award-winning enrichment program for older adults with memory loss\, is seeking caring individuals to serve as volunteers. As a volunteer\, you’ll spend four meaningful hours socializing and engaging in brain-stimulating activities with participants\, providing their family caregivers with a much-needed break. Attend an orientation session to learn more about this opportunity and have your questions answered. \nRegistration for this session is required.
