Lyngblomsten Presents: Violins of Hope (Como Park)

May 8 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Israeli violinmakers Amnon (z”l) and Avshalom Weinstein have spent the last 20 years collecting and repairing 70 Holocaust-era instruments from around the world. Together, they have lovingly located and restored the violins to reclaim their lost heritage, give voice to the victims, and reinforce essential messages of hope, harmony, and humanity. Some of these extraordinary violins will be featured in this program that honors the memory of the Holocaust.

Dr. Jordan Warmath will perform solo violin works playing an instrument from the Violins of Hope collection. She received her DMA in viola performance from the University of California-Santa Barbara and moved to Minneapolis from Los Angeles, where she played in studio for soundtracks to Obi-Wan, Star Trek, the Lego Movie 2 and many more. She has performed regularly with several different orchestras and opera companies. She currently teaches at MacPhail Center for Music as well as Concordia University, St. Paul.

Free; no registration required. Contact Nicole Buchholz, Director of Lifelong Learning & the Arts, with any questions at 651.632.5459 or nbuchholz@lyngblomsten.org.

A version of this concert will be held at Lyngblomsten at Lino Lakes on Friday, May 29, at 10:30 AM.
