Caregiving Takes Many Forms

Caring for an older adult comes in all forms, from dropping off a bag of groceries to providing transportation to a doctor’s appointment. If you’re providing any type of support, you’re in a caregiver role, one that brings both joys and challenges.

Not Sure What You Need? Give Us a Call as a First Step.

When you contact Lyngblomsten Community Services, a caregiver specialist will listen to your story. From that, we’ll help you identify resources that are available—providing you with options tailored to your unique situation—and answer your questions. After, we’ll follow up with another phone call to ensure you received what you needed.

Anyone who is supporting an older adult is welcome and encouraged to connect with us. We have an expertise working with persons who have memory loss and their family caregivers.

Our staff have many years of experience supporting caregivers, so they can provide you with quality educational materials (including online classes) and information about local resources (including home care services, memory care facilities, day respite programs, and senior housing and transportation). They can also offer strategies for support and self-care.

Lyngblomsten Community Services hosts a caregiver support group for those who have a participant in The Gathering.

The Gathering

The Gathering is a group respite program that provides four hours of brain-stimulating activities and social engagement to adults experiencing early- to mid-stage memory loss, allowing their family members and/or friends to take a much-needed break from caregiving. The program is led by Lyngblomsten staff members with support from a team of volunteers who are specially trained to understand the distinctive needs of people experiencing memory loss.
